The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers to the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency stated it's alarmed about the high variety of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach here Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The support place developed for sassa status intervention ordeals a high influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it hard for your Workplace to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to enable the servicing of all prospects and increase usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
